Art is an important tool for learning in the primary curriculum.
Creative work also develops self-esteem and confidence. Your child
will be introduced to a variety of skills in art including drawing,
painting, printing, claywork and collage. These skills can be used
to communicate and express feelings and ideas. Your child will be
taught to appreciate work from a variety of artists. Art also provides
an opportunity to learn about other cultures.
During art lessons children are encouraged to develop the skills of
observation, expression and appreciation. They look at the work of
different artists and use it as a stimulus for their own ideas.
These displays are changed every half term.
