Title

At Fairway School we use a Creative Curriculum approach based on our children's interests. The skills taken from the National Curriculum are put into a "topic" plan that links History/Geography/Art/DT/ICT and English. These "topic" blocks of work can be anything from 2 weeks to whole terms of work.

The study of the past is important to the understanding of the present. Our aim is to arouse interest and enthusiasm when looking at the past, to develop the necessary historical skills and to promote enquiry and curiosity. Through knowledge of the past, children can begin to understand the present world and their own place in it.

Drama, literature and art are used as a means of learning about people in the past and to develop a sense of curiosity in your child.

Geography

Geography seeks to enable children to understand and to develop a fascination for the world in which we live. It will help them realise the interaction between physical and human environments. Children will use a variety of sources such as maps, globes and photographs to develop an understanding of the world
