Our Governing Body is responsible for ensuring that our School conforms with the legal guidelines laid down by Parliament and the Local Authority (LA).

Governors’ duties include:

• monitoring the school budget
• appointing staff
• ensuring the implementation of the National Curriculum
• monitoring health and safety issues concerning school premises and the welfare of pupils and staff.

The Governing Body is not involved in every day running of the school; that is the responsibility of the Head Teacher and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

Our School Governing Body consists of:

The Head Teacher
One Teacher Governor (FPS)- elected by the teaching staff.
Two Teacher Governors (CC) - elected by the teaching staff.
Five Parent/Carer Governors - elected by parental ballot.
Four LA Governors - appointed by the LA, nominated by the main political Parties.
Four Community Governors - elected by the Governors listed above, from the local Community.

The Governing Body meets termly and the minutes of Part 1 are available for everyone to read and are in the school foyer. (Part 2 minutes are confidential).

As well as full Governing Body meetings, there are also committee meetings in order to discuss finer details.

The Chair of Governors is Mr Andrew Cox.
