22nd July 2010
Dear Parents/Carers
We are almost at the end of another academic year. So much has happened at Fairway since last September and the new building is progressing so well.
Goodbye and Good Luck to
Year 6
I can’t believe they are ready to go off to secondary school. They have been a super year group and we will all miss them. I know they will be an asset to all their secondary schools. Perhaps for the first time ever they have not suffered from ‘
Year 6 itis’ which
Year 6 tend to get in the last term or so!!!
Their end of Primary School performance was last night and what a great performance it was. It certainly will be one to remember! Thanks to Miss Mann for all her hard work in putting on a great show.

School Dinners Fairway
Once again, please ensure that Dinner Money is paid every MONDAY or for the whole half term. The cost for the next half term for Years1-6 is £71.75 or £10.25 per week. Please make cheques payable to
Fairway
Primary School.
Non-Uniform Day Tomorrow
Remember tomorrow is a non-uniform day so bring in your £1 (Not for
Year 6 because they like to wear their uniforms on the last day for signing). On these days footwear must be either trainers, plimsolls or school shoes, not open toed shoes, high heeled shoes or boots. Please also remember that the children are outside for the hottest part of the day so no sleeveless tops. As usual no jewellery should be worn. Thank you for your co-operation.
Staffing
Emma Hurn has been at Fairway for two years, firstly as a nursery nurse and then this year as trainee teacher on the Graduate Teacher Programme in the Reception class. I am pleased to say that Emma has passed her course (gaining ‘outstanding’) so she will leave Fairway to pursue her teaching career. We wish her well and I am sure she will be an asset to her new school.
Mrs Hayley O’Flynn will be joining us as a Teaching Assistant in the Nursery next year, we are able to have another member of staff in the class because the hours for nursery children have increased from 12 ½ hours to 15 hours a week.
We also welcome a new Teaching Assistant, Carol Perkiss who is a very experienced Teaching Assistant. She will work mornings only.
Both of these posts are for one year as we are not sure what will happen to school budgets from April 2011.
Friends of Fairway
We would like to try and restart ‘Friends of Fairway’ when the new term starts in September. If you are interested in becoming involved with this, please can you contact Miss Hendra (Inclusion Coordinator).
End of Term
Remember we finish at
2:00pm tomorrow afternoon (23rd July). Please ensure that your child brings home all their belongings.
It just leaves me to say have a great summer holiday and see you in September.
Yours sincerely
Ms
Jan Parker
Head Teacher
