Just a short newsletter to update you.
 Congratulations to the Gardening Club
A big congratulations to the Gardening Club for being one of 30 schools out of 22,500 who have had their crate of shallots chosen to be part of a display at The Chelsea Flower Show. Well done to Fairway’s ‘Green Finger Bunch!’
Unauthorised holiday absence
As you are aware no authorised absence will be given to any family taking a holiday during term time. If you do take your child/ren out of school for a holiday, please inform me as some children have been put in a very awkward position as they have been told to tell an untruth. This is very unfair on the children so please do not do this, it is best to be upfront. If we do find out that you have taken a holiday and given us false information, I will have no choice but to issue a fixed penalty notice which is £50 per parent per child. I really do not want to do this. Thank you.
General Absence Reporting
If your child is unable to attend school for any reason, please don’t forget to call on 0208 359 5380, press option 1 and leave your child’s name, year group and reason for absence by 9am at the latest. The answer machine is available 24 hours a day so a message can be left at any time.
Home Learning Project (Primary School only)
A new Home Learning Project was sent home to all KS2 children on Thursday 13th May 2010. Please support your child and help them to complete it.
Staff Car Park (Primary School only)
Our staff car park is extremely small and hasn’t got enough spaces for our staff. Please under no circumstances park there at any time. Thank you for your co-operation.
Activity Day (Primary School only) Wednesday 7th July
On Wednesday 7th July the infants will have their activity day in the morning and the juniors in the afternoon. This will be held on Courtland’s field. More details will follow.
Multi-Cultural Day 14th July 
To celebrate our diverse community at Fairway we are holding a multi-cultural day on 14th July. This will include activities, foods, crafts, etc. from all around the world so we will need your help. More information about this exciting day will follow next half term. Also this term all the children will be learning about countries as part of our creative curriculum.

School Dinners (Primary School only)
Once again, please ensure that Dinner Money is paid every MONDAY or for the whole half term. The cost for the next half term is £71.75 or £10.25 per week. Please make cheques payable to Fairway Primary School. Please remember that if you would like to change from school dinners to packed lunch or vice versa you MUST give the office two weeks notice.
Packed lunch
If your child is on packed lunch please make sure it is put in a lunch box. Include a spare plastic bag so that yoghurt pots and other ‘messy’ items can be put inside the box to take home therefore minimising mess and also allowing you to see what your child has eaten that day.
