Absence and Lateness

The following information relates to the absences of children of compulsory school age for the period September 2006 - May 2007.

Authorised absences: 4.8% Unauthorised absences: 0.3%

When returning to school after an absence, your child must give a letter to their class teacher, explaining the reason. If a written or verbal reason is not received, the school will send a form requesting an explanation for the absence.

If you need to remove your child during school hours, e.g. for medical appointments, you should advise the class teacher in advance. When you collect your child please sign them out at the main office. If possible try to make dental and doctor’s appointments outside school hours.

Parking and One Way System
FOR YOUR CHILD'S SAFETY PLEASE PARK WITH CARE AND OBSERVE THE PARKING RESTRICTIONS AROUND THE SCHOOL.
Never park or stop on the yellow zig-zag markings in front of the school. We operate a voluntary one way system along The Fairway from 8.15am – 9.30am and 2.45pm – 3.45pm. If you drive to school, please remember to use the one way system as it makes life a lot safer and easier.

Lunchtime
Lunchtime begins at 12.10 pm for Infant children and 12.30 pm for the junior children.
There are two choices, one of which is a vegetarian meal. There is always fresh fruit, yoghurt, cheese and biscuits or a dessert. Children may leave the table when they have finished their dinner. During the lunchtime break, the children are supervised by the Meal Time Supervisors.
School lunches cost £2.00 per day i.e. £10 per week. Dinner money is payable on Mondays only. Each child's payment should be in a separate sealed named envelope and can be cash (please note, no change is given) or cheque, paid weekly or ½ termly. Alternatively credit card payments can be made to the Borough by calling the credit card line on 020 8359 5055. All dinner money should be given to the class teacher.

Free meals are available if you are in receipt of income support or income based job seekers allowance.

Packed Lunches
If your child has a packed lunch, it needs to be in a clearly named container and must not contain nuts or nut products as we have children in school who have life threatening allergies to nuts or nut products. No sweets or chocolates are allowed.

Food is not thrown away but left in lunch boxes so that you can monitor what has been eaten.

Please give your child a drink in a sealable plastic container or carton. Fizzy drinks are not allowed.

Mobile Phones Policy

Mobile Phones are not allowed at the school. If a child goes home by themselves a parent needs to write a letter if they need a phone and it must be kept by the teacher. (The school holds no responsibility for the mobile phone).
