For Design and Technology, Year 6 have been making slippers. We started by learning some
sewing skills. We made a sole the size of our foot before sewing material on top. We sewed on
some cover for our toes before adding some decorations. This was quite complicated however
the slippers, when finished, were beautiful.



In Maths and Art, we were making tessellation patterns. The first thing we did was start with a
simple shape like a square or a triangle. We then cut a shape and stuck it on another side. Finally
we got a piece of paper and started drawing around our patterns. The final result was beautiful.



For R.E., Year 6 have been learning about Mosques and their features. One of our tasks was to
make prayer mats, an intricate design using patterns. Our mats had to have two borders and
one main picture in the centre. We then painted the designs using bright watercolour paints.
The result was splendid.
